IBO Player is the most recommended IPTV app for OntarioIPTV.ca subscribers in Canada. It is free, available on every major device, and handles the full channel lineup — HD, 4K, EPG guide, and catch-up — without requiring a separate paid subscription. This guide covers complete setup for every supported device.
What you need before setting up IBO Player
- An active OntarioIPTV.ca subscription — get one here or start with a free trial
- Your M3U playlist URL (sent by email after subscribing)
- Your EPG guide URL (also in the welcome email)
- A compatible device — Firestick, Smart TV, Android TV, iPhone, iPad, Android phone, or tablet
- A stable internet connection — at least 25 Mbps for HD, 50 Mbps for 4K
IBO Player setup on Firestick (recommended device)
- Enable apps from unknown sources: Go to Settings → My Fire TV → Developer Options → turn on "Apps from Unknown Sources." This is required to install IBO Player from the Amazon App Store on older Firestick models.
- Find IBO Player: From the Firestick home screen, use the search icon and type "IBO Player." Select it from the results.
- Install: Click Download or Get. Wait for installation to complete.
- Open IBO Player: Launch the app from your app library.
- Add your playlist: Select "Add Playlist" or "Add M3U." Enter your M3U URL from the OntarioIPTV.ca welcome email exactly as provided.
- Add EPG: In settings, find the EPG or Guide section and paste your EPG URL. The guide loads current and upcoming program schedules for all channels.
- Browse and watch: Channels are organized by category — Canadian Sports, English Entertainment, French, International, and more. Select any channel to start streaming.
Tip for Firestick users: Connect your Firestick via ethernet using an ethernet adapter (available for under $15 on Amazon) for the most stable 4K streaming experience.

- Save and wait for channels to load. This takes 30–60 seconds on the first run.
IBO Player setup on LG Smart TV
- Open the LG Content Store from the home screen.
- Search for "IBO Player" — it is available natively in the LG store on most recent models.
- Install and launch the app.
- Follow the same playlist and EPG steps as the Samsung setup above.
Note for older LG TVs: If IBO Player is not available in your LG Content Store, use Hot Player instead — it has broader LG Smart TV compatibility. See our IPTV app comparison guide for details.

Getting the best picture quality in IBO Player
- 4K channels: Look for channels labelled "4K" or "UHD" in the channel guide. Ensure your device and TV both support 4K playback.
- Buffering fix: Switch from Wi-Fi to a wired ethernet connection if possible. If buffering occurs on Wi-Fi, try moving your router closer or using a Wi-Fi extender.
- EPG not loading: Double-check the EPG URL was entered correctly. In IBO Player settings, try refreshing the EPG manually.
- Channels not showing: If the channel list appears empty, delete and re-add your M3U playlist URL. Contact support if the issue persists.
